Access Alert Access Pressure Measurement Filter for use with Medisystems AV Fistula Needles makes it easy to measure static intra-access pressure. The Access Alert filter is an inexpensive device with which to justify Doppler or other intra-access flow measurements for stenosis confirmation and early outpatient intervention.
The National Kidney Foundation's DOQI Clinical Practice Guidelines recommend that all dialysis providers use some form of access monitoring. Dynamic pressure monitoring is not as accurate as static pressure monitoring, but traditional methods of static pressure monitoring are complicated and costly.
The Access Alert filter:
Does not interrupt therapy - readings are taken at cannulation
Requires no height calculations - readings are taken at level of the access
Eliminates the effect of blood tubing and other variables on pressure readings
Provides pressure readings that can be used to detect venous, mid-graft and arterial inflow stenosis
